Laprene® TPE-S (TPS)

Producer: Celanese
Polymer type TPE-S, TPS

Celanese TPE-S Laprene® is a thermoplastic elastomer based on SEBS (styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene) and therefore Laprene® TPS has several important benefits over TPE-S (TPS) based on SBS. These include: Lower compression set , better chemical resistance , higher abrasion , better UV and heat resistance.

Laprene® TPS that can be processed either by injection molding or extrusion. Laprene® TPE-S is also suitable for 2K molding with PP (standard grades) as well as with many polar polymers such as ABS, PC, PC/ABS, PMMA, SMMA, ASA, PETG (special grades).

General info

Laprene® TPS is used for in a variety of applications , including many in the Automotive industry including car mats, air vents sealing, firewall grommets and doorsill plates.

TPS (TPE-S) Laprene® offers a wide range of grades:

  • Hardness range from 2 Shore A to 40 Shore D
  • With low temperature limit down to -50°C
  • With max continuous temperature up to 100°C - 120°C
  • Density range from 0,90 g/cm3 up to 1,20 g/cm3
  • High transparency grades
  • UV stabilized grades
